RecovREE: Development of Technologies for Recycling Rare Earth Elements and Production of Magnets from Waste
05/06/2026

Project RecovREE enables the sustainable transformation of waste containing rare earth elements into high-performance Nd-Fe-B magnets using innovative “waste-to-value” technologies.
The main objectives of the project are to enable highly efficient classification and extraction of rare earth elements (REE), produce high-purity metal precursors, and develop next-generation magnets for electromobility applications.
In this way, the project contributes to the development of advanced technologies for recycling critical raw materials and strengthens the circular economy in the field of rare earths and magnetic materials.
Duration: 1 April 2026 – 31 May 2029
The total estimated project value is 8,069,708.00 EUR, with co-financing amounting to 4,999,305.75 EUR.
The operation was selected for co-financing under the Public Call for the Promotion of the Implementation of Research and Development Programs (TRL 3–6) (JR RR PROGRAMS (TRL 3–6)).
The operation is partially financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund and the budget of the Republic of Slovenia.
