SUSTAINABILITY DAY at Surovina d.o.o.
03.10.2024
On 2 October 2024, the SUSTAINABILITY DAY of Surovina took place in Ljubljana, where we presented the activities and solutions of Surovina in the field of sustainable management and presented the benefits of sustainable development measures as well as challenges and opportunities for companies.
We also brought our new sustainable technical solution for waste collection and processing to the event, namely our new Nord vehicle, which added excitement to the day with a waste collection demonstration.
Nearly eight decades of experience, enhanced by innovation and care for the environment and people, enable us to implement sustainability in all areas of the company's operations, while providing our business partners with top-notch service and a whole range of competitive advantages.
In our industry too, a large part of the carbon footprint is created by transporting waste, which is why it was necessary to ask how we can simultaneously reduce emissions, increase efficiency and improve conditions for field workers?
We decided on a modern and sustainable waste collection vehicle called Nord.

We decided on a modern and sustainable waste collection vehicle called Nord.
- The Nord system is one of the most advanced waste collection systems.
- Collection is carried out with a special vehicle, which is technologically very sophisticated and is designed so that it is operated from the cabin by a single trained operator via 6 cameras.
- Packaging waste is collected from specially designed enclosed containers of 5m3 with a disposal opening.
- The entire container emptying cycle is carried out automatically in 90 seconds.
- The vehicle is equipped with a scale that enables immediate weighing of each container.
- The quality of the material is recorded by a camera mounted on the hopper of the superstructure.
