Gorenje Surovina opened a new plant for producing solid fuel from waste

01.01.2012

We are pleased to inform you that the Gorenje Surovina opened a new plant for producing solid fuel from waste. The plant is located at the industrial zone of Tezno Maribor. This is the first private-owned investment in Slovenia that comprehensively solves the issues of energy-rich light fractions from industry and recovers them into solid fuel. This fuel is used in cement kilns and thermal power plants that are authorized for co-incineration.
Our W-t-E production line, co-financed by the EU research & development funds (the RIP programme), is a vital development step in the waste management activity of Gorenje Surovina.

The opening ceremony was attended by many businessmen from Slovenia and business partners from abroad. The production line, worth 2 million Euros, was opened by Mr. Franjo Bobinac, President of Management Board & CEO of Gorenje Group, Mr. Bojan Dejak, Director General of the Public Services and Investments Directorate at the Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning, Dr. Franc Gider, Director General of the Slovenian Technology Agency, and Mr. Jure Fišer, CEO of the Gorenje Surovina. We thank all participants for their visit and encouraging words.
