Building the Digital Thread for Circular Economy Product, Resource & Service Management
CircThread proposes a digital platform to collect all the important information on appliances and extend their life span. Surovina participates in the Slovenian pilot coordinated by Romanian company Simavi, focusing on component information, recyclability assessment, and circular economy recommendations.
The platform addresses core questions such as: Who manufactured the appliance? What is the product lifespan? Can parts be repaired and recycled? What materials can be recovered and reused?
The initiative aims to compile critical appliance data to help extend product lifecycles through informed decision-making by manufacturers, waste managers, and consumers.
Deployment occurs across demonstration clusters in Italy, Slovenia, and Spain, testing seven circularity use cases for household appliances (washers, dishwashers) and energy systems (boilers, solar panels, batteries).
